Through The Storm

THROUGH THE STORM

By Richard Sison

From time to time, people may face moments of hardship and loneliness. You may be longing for your family right now and you just want to hold them... kiss them... or just simply watch them as they sleep peacefully in the night but you are miles away and all there is are tears in your eyes.
Or you may have lost someone you dearly love because of some tragic accident or sickness and all that is left are memories of them on everything that your eyes lay upon. Or maybe, you are someone right now who have been wanting to be known... wanting to be loved... but all there is are rejections...  all there is are failures. Or maybe, you are still chained behind your debts and you can't escape and you can't find your way out. All of these can lead us to sadness... can lead us to fear... can lead us to weakness... can lead us to face a storm.

But His word reminds us that God knows us... that He loves us... and that He hears our cries. He reminds us that He is always with us. Sometimes, we need to feel that we are weak for us to realize His great power. That He can turn everything around and make all things work together for our good. In our weakness, let Him be our strength. In our sadness let Him be our joy. In our fear, let Him hold our hands. Remember that when everyone else fades, He always remains. In happiness and joy, we praise Him... and we praise Him even more in the storm!

Lord, I will forever lift Your name. Though my heart is torn, I will still love You... And through the storm, I will still praise You. For I know that You know me. I know that You hear me. And I know that You alone can calm this storm in me...

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7
