An Epilogue of a Free Man

AN EPILOGUE OF A FREE MAN

by Richard Sison

Birds are whispering on a sunrise
Singing as I open my eyes
And the breeze of the heaven's wind
Is kissing my old wrinkled face

They say life is a colored carousel
Spinning slowly in different seasons
And now is my golden autumn
With the old falling leaves.. I am satisfied

My life was a cycle of tears and joy
But one thing remained true and infinite
An ever faithful love through all the seasons
That brought me peace and a clearer vision

I have been through a lot of journeys
Often been trapped on dark sad alleys
But there I stood and marched the ground
With a new found light and graces abound

I have not swam on the riches of the world
Nor desired for power like most often do
I am just a simple soul with a strong heart
Swimming in the fullness of God's perfect love

Whenever I pray, I ask my Father
To take me home when the sun is rising
So I can glance through all of His creations
And enjoy the beauty until the last of my breath

I am coming home soon but I will leave a memory
And I hope you'll find lessons in my story
Don't let it fade out like some forgotten tale
Nor let it drown deep within the ocean's tail

And now as I lay, I look at the skies above
With heartfelt gladness for the rising of the sun
And with the birds, we'll sing a song of praise
Until it's done.. I'll be home with the Son..
